Acopia live in Bristol at Rough Trade on Sunday 18th May! Get tickets above, or from SeeTickets.
Acopia invites listeners to open their hearts and sink into their feelings, ushering them into a hazy dreamworld of sultry vocals, pensive synthesis, and smouldering basslines. The naarm/Melbourne-based trio, composed of Kate Durman, Lachlan McGeehan and Morgan Wright, have crafted a collection of slow-burn anthems that rest in a fever dream between trip-hop, shoegaze, dream pop, and downtempo. Their 2022 breakout album, ‘Chances’ on naarm/Melbourne label Companion saw them arranging experiences of love and loss into a set of songs that were at once nostalgic, tender, and restrained – lush, textural music to rest a heavy head and heart in. https://acopia.bandcamp.com/
+ E-PRIME: Formerly known as the musical trio Doomsquad under UK’s Bella Union, The Blumas siblings garnered acclaim on KEXP and BBC Radio 1. Combining ambient vocal explorations with politically charged late-night rave anthems, Doomsquad carved a unique niche. Since their disbandment, the duo reemerged as E-Prime, debuting “August is an Angel,” a track that got lots of love on NTS and KCRW. Their sound blends ’90s R&B, ’80s pop hooks, UK street soul, and balearic beach grooves. E-Prime is an innovative electronic act on the rise. Their debut EP “Dry Throats and Sunburns” was released on Scenic Route (UK/Worldwide) and SSURROUNDSS (Canada) in October 2024 and was considered a “Top 10 great albums of 2024” by DAZED MAGAZINE.
