Straddling a divide between spacious rural folk and urban post-punk claustrophobia, Blood Wizard’s debut single Car Crash, released in late 2019, was a prelude to what is shaping up to be a true blossoming of the songwriting abilities of Nottingham-based musician Cai Burns.

Although also a member of Nottingham’s punk trio Kagoule (Alcopop! / Earache Records), Blood Wizard arrives with no fixed direction – instead it offers a platform for Burns to explore himself as an artist beyond boundaries and preconceptions. It’s a project that’s bubbled up from within, always there in his writing for other projects but now emerging fully formed in its own entity. https://bldwzrd.bandcamp.com/

Plus support from SUEP + Hutch.

SUEP: SUEP create music perfect for children (9+) with refined artistic palates. Lead by SuepLord (Porridge Radio, Garden Centre) and old friend Brian Wastefield (UK Top Model), SUEP is borne out of a decade of wearing silly clothes and making music together. Since relocating from Brighton to London, the pair added GN (GN, Joanna Gruesome, The Tubs) Freakin’ Deacon(PC World, Garden Centre) and T-Mr.9 (Head of Pastoral Care) to the line up. They take turns writing songs and taking lead vocal duties, but manage to create a coherent world of primary colour chord sequences and after school cautionary tales.
Hutch: Hutch draws from their musical influences of psychedelia, disco and beat music. Exploring 60’s melodies and experimental sounds along with bright guitars and driving drums, bass lines that walk the tightrope of McCartney riffs and dance repetition, whilst Pritchard’s vocals sit on top of lush harmonies.
