The free-ranging sonic motif of Flip Top Head continues to galvanise the UK underground scene. Van Zon: Forming in early 2023, Van Zon began as a bedroom practise with guitarist Charlie West and bassist Lottie Skala. As further members joined the sound of Van Zon began to shift. What were once acoustic ballads became grand orchestral compositions, flowing and distorting between screams and electronic noise into ominous indie-folk, combining the looming guitars of Swans and Oxbow, the twisted electronics of Aya and Sarahsson, and orchestral arrangements and songwriting inspired by the progressive folk of Richard Dawson and Caroline. https://www.instagram.com/van.zonband/
