Helen Ganya Brighton

Helen Ganya plays Brighton on 22nd October 2025 at The Brunswick! Get tickets from DICE.

Brighton-based, Scottish-Thai musician Helen Ganya (previously releasing music under the moniker Dog In The Snow) has shown a proclivity towards dark and artful rock and off-kilter sounds, garnering praise from the likes of the Sunday Times, Uncut, Clash, Loud & Quiet and more. But her latest album Share Your Care marks a new era, building on her past sonic worlds and interspersing them with traditional Thai instrumentation, resulting in a plush, luminous, psych-tinged affair that is full of feeling.

Helen has supported the likes of John Grant, Algiers, Bess Atwell and Bombino; and played festivals such as Ypsigrock, SXSW, The Great Escape and LUCFest. She has also toured as a session musician with post-punk band Fear of Men and alternative collective Lost Horizons, founded by Cocteau Twins’ member and Bella Union boss Simon Raymonde.

Helen also holds a MSc in climate change and works for the climate and cultural organisation Julie’s Bicycle. She is on the music committee of Brian Eno’s climate change charity EarthPercent, and a member of ESEA Music which aims to create better representation of artists and professionals with East and South-East Asian heritage in the UK. She also produces and presents a regular radio show on Brighton’s Slack City, entitled Mixed Tapes, which highlights the work of musicians of colour. https://helenganya.com

Plus support: Hilang Child is the moniker of Welsh-Indonesian singer, songwriter and drummer Ed Riman. With anthemic pop hooks sitting above richly textured, multi-layered songs, in his live shows he delivers soaring vocals from behind the drums, often backed by a saxophonist and other instrumentalists

Tracks from his 2024 ‘5, 6, Sidekick’ EP featured on BBC 6 Music’s New Music Fix and the BBC Radio Wales Welsh A-List. He was also featured on Fresh On The Net’s Fresh Faves, performed live on the Tedx Outrage and Optimism podcast, and was selected in The Face Magazine’s 9 East and South East Asian Musicians Worth Checking Out Now. His new album is due for release in 2025, supported by funding from PRS Foundation and Help Musicians.Previous live appearances include at London’s Southbank Centre, SXSW, Iceland Airwaves and headline + support dates around the UK and in Indonesia. https://hilangchildmusic.com
