Nanocluster was conceived by Immersion (aka Malka Spigel and Colin Newman of Minimal Compact and Wire respectively). The club features a range of influential and cutting edge music acts, previous acts include Thor Harris, Tarwater, Laetitia Sadier, Ulrich Schnauss and Scanner. But the unique aspect of the evenings is that each show climaxes with a one off collaboration between Immersion and the headliners. The songs having been written and recorded in the studio, often in the days prior to the performance.

Cubzoa: Jack Wolter is an artist based in Brighton who performs as Cubzoa as well as with much-loved Penelope Isles, the band he formed with his sister Lily. Wolter’s music is often intimate and delicate, personal and touching. A feeling of melancholy is never too far away in these new songs. Jack is an instinctive and fearless artist who will write from the heart even if it hurts like hell. The raw edges that come from broken relationships lend a real authenticity to his solo work with Cubzoa, as well as the songs he is writing for the band Penelope Isles’ next album. Immersion are Malka Spigel and Colin Newman. Though best known for their work with Minimal Compact and Wire, Immersion provides an outlet for their ongoing fascination to craft enthralling, unique musical soundscapes. Immersion emerged in the early 1990s against the backdrop of European minimal techno releasing Oscillating (1994), Full Immersion (1995) feat. Claude Young, Mick Harris, Gez Varley and Mark Gage & Low Impact (1999).

It then fell silent as the couple experimented with other vehicles for their collaboration. Returning in 2016, their sound was unmistakable and yet evolved into a different beast. Their albums Analogue Creatures Living On An Island (2016) and Sleepless (2018) are regarded by some as the point where Immersion emerge from being one of the UK electronica scene’s best kept secrets to gain the recognition they deserve.The couple also have a weekly music radio show called Swimming In Sound. http://immersionhq.uk
