Plants and Animals Brighton

This show has been cancelled. The band say:

After many postponements we have decided that it’s unfortunately best for us to cancel a portion of our European tour. We will work on rebooking these cancelled shows at a later time. Looking forward to seeing you out there!

Xo, Plants & Animals

Plants and Animals work on instinct. They’ve been playing together for 20 years, so they basically started as kids. They were a big part of the mid-’00s Montreal music renaissance, when you couldn’t walk through the neighbourhood at 4pm on a Tuesday without spilling your coffee on the fitted jeans of a who’s who. They ran around sweaty all night and blew bubbles from the roof over Parc Avenue when they finished their first album. They became known for a ferocious live show and still are. They have just finished their fifth album. They’re parents now, and have been so for long enough to move beyond euphoria into anxious realness and bigger love. The world is a different place than it used to be.

Making music is their collective way of processing it. Plants and Animals are Nicolas Basque, Warren Spicer and Matthew Woodley. The Jungle, out in October 2020 is their shortest album yet and almost certainly their boldest. Eight acts in a world full of noise.

Plus support.

Accessibility:

The venue is only accessible via a flight of stairs however the venue can offer access via a back door at street level to the venue if needed. There are 3 large steps via this route so assistance to gain access and to exit the venue would be required. The venue can arrange this if you contact them in advance of a show on 01273325793. Please bear in mind that they can only allow access when bands aren’t playing due to sound issues. Two disabled toilets upstairs, both gender neutral. Chairs can be provided in the venue although if the event is very busy this will impede visibility. If you wish to make use of a chair to view a gig, we advise arriving early to secure a position. The venue are happy to accommodate assistance dogs.

If you require a carer ticket, please contact us at info@lovethyneighbourmusic.co.uk for guestlist, with evidence such as a blue badge or access card. If strobe lighting or standing for long periods of time is an issue, please contact us in advance.
