Van Houten’s core is based on life long friendship, an inability to exist without each other, and an obsession with creating a sonic mixing pot of intimate lo-fi rock + cavernous Shoegaze. Their sound envelops the listener, combining upbeat pop melodies and hooks with downbeat lyrics one minute, before full introspection and aural catharsis the next.

The Leeds based band’s new music sees them find their own, unmistakable sound, something which has been 7 years in the making. It’s been worth the wait, allowing them to explore sounds, textures, and raw emotions. Supporting each other through difficult moments has been key to the band finding their feet and growing into what they are today.

They acquired the input of producer Alex Greaves (bdrmm, Working Men’s Club, Bloc Party) who helped them push harder, delve into a more forceful, raw sound, characterised by chiming dueling guitars and droning moody soundscapes.

+ ladylike: Delicately treading the tightrope between folk, post-rock and psychedelia, ladylike offer an innovative blend. Having spent 18 months crafting their sound through live shows, the Brighton quartet released their debut single ‘Southbound’ in November 23; a majestic ode to the awkward mundanity of twenty-something life that weaves a slow burn epic, deftly churning into full-blown, psychedelic splendour – via dramatic stops, starts, rises and falls. “Fired up with the giddiness of pure adventure.” So Young

+ Nierra Creek: Residing in the South of England, Nierra Creek are Somerset songwriter Ryan Deag and Swiss producer Sebastian Müller. The pair became friends during a last minute scrounge for housing in Brighton. Both share a love for James Blake, Hip Hop, soundscapes and unexpected noise which is the backbone to their sound. Championed by BBC SouthWest’s Daniel Pascoe and Radio X’s Sarah “Gozzo” Gosling.

If you require a carer at the venue, please contact us at info@lovethyneighbourmusic.co.uk for guestlist, with evidence such as a blue badge or access card. If strobe lighting is an issue or if standing for long periods of time is an issue, please contact us in advance. They can provide chairs in the venue although if the event is very busy this will impede visibility. If you wish to make use of a chair to view a gig, we advise arriving early to secure a position.
