Drahla Brighton

Drahla play Brighton at The Hope & Ruin on Friday 3rd May 2024! Get tickets with only a £1 booking fee above or from Dice.

Drahla emerged in mid 2016 and quickly established themselves as a formidable and distinctive band across their two sold out 7” singles and 2017’s Third Article EP. This in turn garnered the attention of the New York based indie behemoth Captured Tracks to sign the Leeds band. With another sold out 7” and the critically acclaimed debut album, 2019’s ‘Useless Coordinates’ under their belt the band spent most of their time on the road. Headline tours across Europe, UK, USA & Canada alongside multiple festival appearances, including Meltdown at the behest of The Cure’s Robert Smith. This cemented the band as an uncompromising live force on the stage.

After an almost 3-year hiatus the band bolted back on the scene with two new singles, ‘Under the Glass’ and ‘Lipsync’. Another successful UK & EU tour along with multiple radio plays and a 6-music session with Marc Riley (The bands 4th appearance on the show) marked a solid return for Drahla. As the dust settles on their latest release, ‘Lipsync’, the band gear up for the announcement of their much-anticipated sophomore album. All eyes will be on Drahla as 2024 will
undoubtably the biggest year for the band to date. https://drahla.bandcamp.com

+ Lower Slaughter: Having ploughed through the UK underground for nearly a decade, 2024 sees Sussex-by-the-sea’s Lower Slaughter return after an extended hiatus, with a shift in personnel, a new line-up & all-new music! The four piece describe themselves modestly as a band “who make loud riffs” though The Quietus description of “lurching noise-rock that occasionally works the angles but is chiefly a showpiece for big fuck-off riffs that call to mind Pissed Jeans, Nirvana and Harvey Milk” may be more accurate.

Since their debut album release in 2017, the band has garnered high praise from the likes of The Quietus, All Music, Loud & Quiet and Flush The Fashion, as well as finding fans in BBC Radio 6 presenter Shaun Keaveny, BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens & cult comedy legend Stewart Lee, among others!

“One of the most unique noise rock bands to have appeared in the past five years.” The Quietus

If you require a carer at the venue, please contact us at info@lovethyneighbourmusic.co.uk for guestlist, with evidence such as a blue badge or access card. If strobe lighting is an issue or if standing for long periods of time is an issue, please contact us in advance. They can provide chairs in the venue although if the event is very busy this will impede visibility. If you wish to make use of a chair to view a gig, we advise arriving early to secure a position.
