Funke and the Two Tone Baby Brighton

Funke and the Two Tone Baby plays Brighton at The Hope & Ruin on 1st May 2024! Get tickets from 10am Thursday 7th December with only a 50p booking fee above or from Seetickets.

There is no disputing that 2023 has been the biggest and most incredible year in Funke and the Two Tone Baby’s career. From being hot-tipped by the Guardian as a show-to-see at Glastonbury Festival, support from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, and a brand new album that FATEA have called ‘a milestone for independent music’. What’s even more incredible, is that 2024 is already taking shape to be bigger. Much bigger!

Having just secured two support tours alongside 90’s pioneers EMF and electronic legends Dub Pistols, Funke and the Two Tone Baby announces his own 16-date tour across the UK’s finest independent venues, the Reacclimate Tour Part Two.

Equipped with keyboards, samplers, triggers and a beaten-up blues guitar and harmonica, Funke takes you all the way from a big blues stomp, to acid-house glitches and what IMPRINT calls ‘Ed Sheeran’s acoustic looping with Jack White’s aggressive blues vocal, through the lens of a ska dance beat’.

Uncategorised, uncharted and impossible to pigeonhole, Funke and the Two Tone Baby delivers relentless energy, high-end originality, and a one-man dance frenzy like no other. Now is the time to get on the front row of this one-man band revolution.

‘The record offers a steely determination to come back into the world fighting, via, blues, funk, big-beat and heartbreaking love songs’ – Louder Than War

‘I’ve seen it with my own eyes; this one-man volcano can move any audience to the maximum vibes. Funke is the absolute maestro!’ – Chris Tofu, Shangri La – Glastonbury / Continental Drifts

+ Cowz: COWZ are a Brighton-based alt-pop duo with music that can only be described as “Bubblegum pop in dire need of therapy”. The group was founded by Saga Wahlström and Natasha ‘Tasha’ Nicholl in 2021 with the goal of delivering some hard-hitting truths, with enough glitter and frills to get you dancing.
Having released single ‘Most Fun I’ve Had in Ages’ at the end of November 2023, followed by the well received ‘DOMINATION’ in January 2024 and Bad News in March 2024, COWZs’ track ‘Rosalie’ is set for release on the 11th April. This will be the final single before their debut EP ‘That’s Cute! Baby’ is unleashed on the 3rd May. The duo has supported ‘The Correspondents’ singer, Mr Bruce on a sold-out tour at the end of 2022 and opened The Great Escape beach stage in 2023. They’ve also played Victorious Festival & Loud Women Festival in London as well as various shows in both Brighton and London throughout 2022 & 2023 (such as Green Door Store, Hope and Ruin and The Grace, Islington). They recently played John Kennedy from Radio X’s ‘The Remedy’ as the opener for Office for Personal Development, and Coco and the Lost.

COWZ have been featured in Radio X & by CLOUT, ASBO, Loud Women and, on Kerrang Magazine’s Instagram. COWZ have also received support from Phil Taggart, Nathan Sykes (The Wanted), Jack Saunders, Pete Simmons (A&R, Universal), Nels Hylton, Sian Evans, BBC Introducing and Kieron Pepper (The Prodigy).
