The Korgis play Lewes Con Club on Friday 5th April 2024. Get tickets with only a £1 booking fee above or from Seetickets. This show has been reschduled from 8th September, with tickets from the original show valid for the new date.
Whirl back in time with The Korgis as they take you on a musical and audio/visual journey though the songs and bands that influenced them.
They will be putting their own unique spin on songs by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, the sublime harmony of Simon and Garfunkel, the wry humour of 10cc, the quirkiness of Buggles, the creativity of Peter Gabriel and of course, songs of peace and hope from The Korgis.
James, John and Al will talk about and play, the music that influenced the big Korgis and Stackridge songs like ‘Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime, If I Had You, Bringing Back the Spirit of Love, If It’s Alright With You Baby and Something About The Beatles. If you want to know something, then ask away – yes, there is a spot where we will be taking questions!
The Korgis try to recapture their youth – and perhaps yours – in a musical journey that will tweak the memories and leave you in a spin. All aboard The Korgis Time Machine! https://thekorgis.com
+ Soft Top:Formed in March 2023, Soft Top is the alias and latest brainchild of songwriter Miles Goodall. Pooling together elements of Miles’ influences (Andy Shauf, Matt Maltese and Steely Dan to name a few) with generous decorations from a seven piece band (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Clarinet, Cello, and Trumpet) Soft Top’s music aims to pull at your heart strings, even if only very gently. The band individually have all mastered their crafts across some of the other projects they feature in (Hutch, DLD, Sad Dads, TINMAN, Slant, BobbySmiles) and are all songwriters themselves, providing a unique balance of written parts that truly serve each song.
On the live circuit, there have been two ‘soft’ launches for the project, first a sell out solo show at The Rossi Bar in Brighton on the 15th of April, followed by a quartet (Keys, Bass, Guitar and Clarinet) outing at Arcobaleno in Brighton. Both shows were played to a capacity crowd, and met with an extremely positive response. Following the two ‘soft’ launches, the full seven-piece band debuted their live set up with a sold out headline show at Rossi Bar in Brighton on June 1st.
